Matayoshi Kobudo

Matayoshi Kobudo is a traditional weapons martial art from Okinawa (Japan), in which students learn to use the Bo (Staff), Sai, Tsunkuwa (Tonfa) and Nunchaku.

One of the oldest martial arts systems in existence Matayoshi Kobudo is the only fighting style to be officially awarded the Royal ‘Kiku Flower’ emblem of approval by the Japanese Imperial family.

Students train in a black and white ‘Gi’ and weapons for beginners are provided.

Classes are taught by Sensei Michael Clayton.
